Lonnie Shipman Biography
Background
Born into a musical family, Lonnie Shipman began piano training at age five, studying with his mother, who was head of the Piano Department for Arlington Baptist College and Bible Baptist Seminary of Fort Worth, Texas. Advancing quickly, Lonnie was performing classical piano concertos at age eleven, and winning piano competitions at age thirteen.
After salvation at age six, Lonnie was raised in a Baptist pastor's home and studied to be a concert pianist, winning numerous piano competitions and touring professionally. But at age fifteen, God spoke to his heart, and hearing the call to preach, Lonnie turned from a concert pianist career to the ministry. Soon he was invited to preach and perform sacred music concerts. Later, after College and Seminary, Dr. Shipman has continued to travel internationally in a ministry of Bible preaching and teaching, with concerts of piano, trumpet and vocal music. He specializes in teaching Bible prophecy and performing piano concerts with his own arrangements of traditional hymns in a classical, romantic style.
